Last Song

Last Song: Cheesy and predictable. This is what I thought I'd be saying about this movie, but, actually...I can't. The script was well-written, plenty of summer beach scenes to set the appropriate mood, and on a whole the acting wasn't bad (I particularly loved Bobby Coleman, the actor who played little brother, Jonah). There was, of course, a healthy dose of cheese - I'd expect nothing less from Mr Sparks - but I think that's synonymous with the genre. As for predictability; there are a few elements, but, unless you've read the book, there is definitely one thing that you won't see coming.
So, for me, Last Song was a success. Not quite The Notebook, but it certainly superseded The Timetraveler's Wife and Dear John. 


...Oh, and one more thing - bring tissues ;)

Miley and Liam...Say, "CHEEEEESE!"

What a perfect pair: young actress, known across the world, falls for her relatively unknown co-star, who she met on the set of her upcoming - supposedly breakout - movie. Everybody say, "Ahhhh."
...Or another, more realistic, scenario is that Miley needed another guy to get photographed with (the fact that he's older was, no doubt, a bonus - another indication of her blinding maturity, I guess), this guy, Liam, needed to raise his profile and a "real-life" romance could do nothing but help the publicity of their movie.

Maybe I'm just getting incredibly cynical, but I'm seeing the hand prints of the P.R people all over this.

Bad Infulences of '09

On a poll that named the bad influences of 2009, Miley came in at No. 1 (above Britney at No.2 and Kanye at 3). Now, I'm not a huge fan of the girl - okay, I lie, I'm not a fan at all - but to come in above the mess that has been Britney these last couple years? Seems a bit harsh to me. Don't get me wrong, the pole dancing at the TCA's, that alone should've earned her a place on the list but I just think her ranking at No. 1 was a little OTT.

Someone Explain

One night, a few weeks ago, I bumped my head while I was sleeping and woke in an alternate universe - a world where Miley didn't seem quite as crazy - I lie, she just seemed a little less crazy when it came it Nick - and Nick actually...liked her again.

Anyone else having trouble processing this? The same guy, just a few months ago, literally walked right passed her at the GG's, spoke about her without even a morsel of emotion, and her hopes to win him back seemed futile. But now...

...my mind continues to struggle.

Disney Love

Hollywood's such a weird place. There are only so many places where you'll find a guy hanging out with two of his ex's; hugging one, playing wiffle ball with another. ...Remember when guys would avoid being in that situation and ex girl-friends stayed away from each other? Ahhh...the good ol' days *sigh*

Another Year...Another Speech

Oh, Miley, when shall it end? Last year we had the 'Lord and Saviour' quote and I never possibly thought she could trump that, but lo and behold she did. How? You ask. How could she ever give a more cringe-worthy speech? Oh, just wait and see....



YEP! She did it. She really did it... SHE CRIED!!
Now, I get that a KCA's a big deal, as far as I'm concerned it's the coolest award out there, but tears-worthy? I don't think so! You said it yourself, Miley: It's not and Oscar. It's a blimp! A blimp! Let's get some perspective here!

A Night to Remember

I don't like Miley, but I did feel sorry for her at the Golden Globes-I mean, who wouldn't!?
The way she looked back at Nick on the E! podium after he walked passed-and ignored-her. The way she fussed with the dress nervously when she saw him, and the way she couldn't speak at first after he left.
And then, just as she thinks the night can't get any worse...BAM!!! Billy-Ray goes and steps on her dress, leaving a huge black footprint!



....Oh and Kevin....WOULD YOU LET NICK TALK!

That One's Gonna Hurt ...

'She's a sweetheart', Selena said in the most patronising tone when she was asked about a feud

between her and Miley.It's bad enough that the girl you hate is dating your ex-boyfriend, but having that girl call you a sweetheart? Ouch! That's gotta be like taking a bullet. Miley went to the lengths of openly mocking her and making sure the entire world knew she dated Nick Jonas first, and Selena, with only three words, managed to make her look small and childish; can't you just picture Selena patting her on her head and chuckling at her immature ways? From her point of view she has no reason to dislike Miley, after all she's got the guy.

And what's with Miley's Boyfriend-to-rent, Justin-church in a tank top-Gaston? Oh please! It's so obvious the only reason she's with him is because she wants to make Nick jealous and thinks he will look good in pictures; the only problem with that? Nick doesn't care! The only person that doesn't seem to have moved onto the whole thing is Miley; Nick hasn't said a single word about the break-up and Selena clearly isn't bothered by Miley's status as 'the ex-girlfriend'...

And, one more thing: Miley, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY PUT AWAY THE PEACE SIGN!!!

The Point of No Return...

I have officially lost all respect for Miley Cyrus (not that I had much left for her after these last few months) ...After months of denying first dating Nick Jonas and then the break-up she has suddenly decided to open up in an interview with Seventeen magazine. She says that her and Nick were 'In love' and goes on to say 'for 2 years he was basically my 24/7'...So many things are wrong with this; firstly, why speak about it now after saying you were just friends for so long? Secondly, you have a 24/7 at 15? What happened to 'we hang out and have fun' -why are things so serious now? And then she went through her black hair phase which she said was her wanting to have a rock-chick look but that was actually her rebelling against the things Nick liked about her; 'when we were dating Nick wanted me to get highlights. And then, on the day we broke up I was like, I want to make my hair black now, I don't want to be pretty; I want to be hard core'...I was like, you let your boyfriend tell you what to do with your hair? Okay. Is it just a coincidence that she decides to say all this just as Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez have been outed as a couple? If you ask me she doesn't like the idea that Nick has moved on and is trying to keep the focus on their relationship for as long as possible...

Just a quick tip: Miley, this whole clingy, bitter, can't move on and let go thing you're doing right now, so not a good look, especially when Nick isn't going around saying things about your relationship...

Move On Miley!!

Miley Cyrus really needs to get over it!! She has officially become 'The Bitter Ex'. It started off as small things: the fact she would never stand next to Nick in a picture, the look and forced clap she gave when JB won a Kids Choice Award; but she sunk to a new low when she released the '7 Things' music video. Pretty much everyone knew it was about Nick when the song was released but the video is just sad-she plays with Dog Tags around her neck, a picture of her and a boy is held up (even though the face is covered you can tell it's Nick) and in the background has a curly-haired boy playing a guitar identical to Nick's!! MILEY, MOVE ON!! Nick has. Don't you realise? While you've been trying to get his attention, saying 'I'm probably going to get a call from the person when the video comes out', he's been off on his tour probably not even thinking about your video.
Why is it always the girls who never seem to move on?
